Ready to Read Programme with Dyslexia Nigeria

The Bella Disu Foundation is proud to partner with Dyslexia Nigeria on the Ready to Read Programme, an initiative focused on improving early literacy outcomes by promoting the early identification and support of children with dyslexia.

Many children with learning differences remain undiagnosed, often affecting their confidence and academic progress. Through this partnership, we worked to ensure that children receive the support they need as early as possible, while equipping educators with the knowledge and resources to create more inclusive learning environments.

As part of the programme, the Bella Disu Foundation supported the screening of Primary One pupils across four public schools in Victoria Island, Lagos, helping to identify children who may require additional learning support.

Our contribution also included:

Providing the tools, resources, and personnel required to successfully carry out the screening exercise.
Facilitating teacher training sessions focused on dyslexia awareness, early identification, and practical classroom strategies to better support learners with dyslexia.

By investing in early intervention and educator capacity building, we are helping to create classrooms where every child has the opportunity to learn with confidence and succeed.

At the Bella Disu Foundation, we believe that inclusive education begins with awareness, and every child deserves the chance to realise their full potential.
